Dr. Norma Cooney has been practicing medicine for over 15 years and is board certified in Emergency Medicine.  In addition to possessing expertise in healing modalities and resuscitation, Dr. Cooney has held a number of key leadership roles at local, regional, and national levels.  Dr. Cooney has an academic appointment as Assistant Professor and has authored a number of articles in medical journals as well as a number of medical textbook chapters.  Dr. Cooney received her aesthetics training in New York City and focuses her work on ensuring total client assessment to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to meet the specific needs of every client.

Dr. Norma enjoys spending time with family, watching TheCooneyBoys play football, wrestle, play lacrosse, and perform in the jazz band and full band.  She enjoys walks and being outdoors with the Cooney Dogs and family.  Dr. Norma has a passion for helping others live their dreams and is an unstoppable positive force.  She uses her superpower for good and enjoys seeing others make their dreams into reality.

Dr. Cooney has over 15 years as a practicing physician with board certifications in Emergency Medicine and EMS Medicine, and an academic appointment as a tenured Associate Professor.  He has his own textbook and has authored numerous articles and book chapters.  Dr. Cooney also has experience in local, regional, and national leadership positions and has earned numerous awards and honors including the being the recipient of the 2019 Excellence in Medicine Award.  Dr. Cooney graduated from Texas A&M College of Medicine and completed residency and fellowship at the prestigious Scott & White Memorial Hospital.  Dr. Derek Cooney possesses a wealth of experience which he brings to the team at ONE Vida.  Dr. Cooney is an expert in resuscitation and fluid management and received his initial aesthetics training in New York City.

Dr. Derek enjoys teaching classes with Dr. Norma and his brother, Dr. Damon Cooney who is a board-certified plastic surgeon, Associate Professor, and Vice-Chair of his department.  Dr. Derek also enjoys watching their 4 boys play sports and perform in musical groups.  Dr. Derek also serves the community as a part time police officer and is a talented YouTube youth sports "broadcaster". 

Dr. Elfar is a highly trained, skilled, and experienced surgeon and holds multiple board certifications including Plastic Surgery, Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care.  Dr. Elfar is a graduate of the Medical School of Suez Canal University in Egypt. After graduation, he completed a surgical residency and was in private practice of plastic and general surgery for several years prior to coming to the United States.  In 2001, Dr. Elfar joined the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of California-Irvine as a research fellow.

Dr. Elfar completed his Burn Surgery fellowship at Shriners Hospital-UTMB and his General Surgery residency training at Methodist Hospital of Weill - Cornell University. Dr. Elfar trained in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Cooper University Hospital of Rowan University.

Dr. Elfar is an Adjunct Professor at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine and an Assistant Professor at SUNY Upstate Medical University in New York.

Chris has many years of clinical and surgical experience and brings her own style and approach to ONE Vida.  Chris sees initial consultations and existing patients and possesses a wealth a knowledge and skill that she brings to the practice.  Drs. Norma and Derek had the honor of participating in some of Chris's early training in Medical Aesthetics.  Chris Feliu, NP maintained her own practice of Aesthetic Medicine and now has recently joined ONE Vida bringing her experience and expertise to the Team!  Chris also assists Drs. Cooney and Dr. Elfar with some of our more specialized procedures and her passion for collaboration and patient-centric practice makes Chris Feliu, NP a truly special member of our ONE Vida Team!
